healthy hair journey

Winter Hair Regimen

Length check!

Let’s start from the beginning… when I was a little girl, I always had long hair… I was the girl in class who took pride in her high ponytails :D .  Sadly, because I was just too grown for my own good, I insisted on taking care of my own hair.  To make a long story short, my hair didn’t last for very long…  my mom actually had to cut it off to just right below the ear (1999).  My hair grew back by 2004).  So after too many relaxers and color treatments in 2005, I ended cutting all of my hair off AGAIN.  Finally in 2011, my hair is back and it’s here to stay!  I’m trying to do some no heat challenges this summer so that my hair can relax, breathe, and grow with ease!  My first one started on June 6th and ended today (June 27th).  I couldn’t hold it any longer!  I just had to have straight hair!  Take a look at my healthy hair journey this month:

I’ve been using the Hairdrenaline Potion and I haven’t seen too many results, but they say it takes seven weeks to see some extreme growth.  My hair hasn’t grown too much over the last year, but I consider myself lucky because I’ve been using a lot of heat and I haven’t been experiencing breakage OR heat damage.  Here are some ways that I reintained my length:

  • deep conditioning every week with Extra Virgin Coconut Oil
  • putting Peppermint oil into my products to encourage blood flow to the scalp
  • using Silk Elements Olive Oil heat protectant
  • moisturizing and sealing every night
  • wrapping my hair

Find what works for your hair by listening to it!  It’s working  for me, and I’m hoping to reach my brastrap by this time next year.
